*Clear glass provides protection for the bulb and the environment surrounding the bulb should the bulb shatter and is recommended for open fixtures. Frosted glass provides protection and softens the light.

**Aluminum reflectors project all light and heat forward and look more yellow than dichroic lamps. Dichrioc reflectors allow some of the heat and yellow light to escape through the back of the reflector projecting light that is more blue or pink as compared to the aluminum reflector and is less hot in front of the lamp. With colored dichroic lamps the aluminum reflector blocks the back light while a front dichroic filter allows the desired color to escape and block the colors not desired from escaping the lamp.

***NDL means Natural Daylight and has a special dichroic coating that traps yellow light and allows daylight balanced blue light to project beyond the lamp. If you look at an NDL lamp it will look yellow as you are seeing the trapped yellow light; if you look at the surfaces on which the NDL light projects you will see that it has a bluer Daylight color.
